Art is about successful expression, whether you choose to reflect or distort reality, retain or alter perspective. If you opt to stick within the confines of tradition, but later, feel a pang of discontentment, an ulcer consuming from the borders of your work; if you declare a limitation halfway through but push on anyway, resulting with something claiming only three-fourths of what you originally wanted to express, then sadly, you fail with your art. Therefore dear former colleague, I deem your purist argument invalid. Good thing I left your party a long time ago.
